I found Dr Louise Egan through a friend. The moment I spoke to her the fog lifted (and the tears started) and I began to see things more clearly. As well as putting my particular issues in to context which made me feel much less alone and much more 'normal', Louise also offered tailored strategies to help me through both new and reoccurring problems. I invested in my own mental health for the first time in 52 years and I couldn't have chosen a better listener, guide and mentor. After 12 months of regular meetings I felt ready to continue the journey by myself, knowing that the resources Louise had given me could be called upon at any time.
Prior to working with Louise, my child suffered with severe anxiety, particularly related to exams, to a point where they would vomit. After six months of working with Louise, they took their GCSE exams without any noticeable anxiety and secured a set of results that we were all delighted with. Since then, they have settled into a brand new college like a dream (where they didn’t know any other students).
Louise worked with my other child for over nine months, giving them coping strategies and approaches to help them manage anxiety. The change in my child has been remarkable, with friends and family members all noticing the changes.
As a family we could not be more grateful for the difference Louise has made to our children and would recommend any parent to seek her support with counselling for any issues a child or teenager may be facing.
