Can I choose my therapist?
We are delighted that we can offer a mix of female and male therapists, with a range of clinical interests and experience. Where possible we will endeavour to match your needs with the most appropriate clinician.
What happens at an initial meeting?
Your clinician will spend time asking questions about your symptoms, and try to form an understanding of what may be causing and maintaining the symptoms. They will take notes, and may ask you to complete a scale to rate your symptoms. You will not be forced to talk about anything you do not want to; we will sensitively respond to your needs.
How long does a session last?
Sessions usually last between 50 minutes to 1 hour.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions will be suggested by your clinician, and will be determined by the level of need and type of therapy being offered.
Are sessions confidential?
Although most information discussed during sessions will remain confidential, if the clinician feels you are at risk of harming yourself or another person, they are obliged to share that information with other relevant professionals.
As good practice we usually update your GP about the type of therapy by letter.
Do you offer work experience placements?
Due to the confidential nature of therapeutic work, we are unable to offer work experience placements.
